The Place

The Border Union Showground is a large purpose built showground facility set beside the junction of the River Teviot & the famous River Tweed (handy for all those interested in angling). Opposite the site, across the river, is Floors Castle, not so much a castle but, a Stately Home on a grand scale. Kelso itself is only a two minute walk away, is one of the most scenic Market Towns in Britain let alone the Scottish Borders. The Scottish Borders contain all the elements required to give a great range of scenic views but, has a road network which shows off this scenery to its best effect. The Border Towns are thriving places with a strong agricultural base , but also with a very strong textile industry. A treat for the eye and mind.
